Mitch’s practice is dedicated to representing domestic and international insurers on defence and subrogation claims as well as providing coverage opinions. He has worked with many claims examiners and adjusters since starting his career and he has built a reputation for his capable handling of their most challenging and high value bodily injury, property and construction claims.

A constant curiosity and determination to uncover the facts behind a claim helps Mitch provide his clients with a frank assessment of every file. He balances the drive to defend a claim on its merit with a commercial awareness and understanding of his clients’ business needs.  He has a down-to-earth working style and clients appreciate his collaborative approach to advancing a file towards resolution, his responsiveness and constant willingness to help out with the simplest of questions.  

Mitch would have appeared before all levels of court by now, but his written application to the Supreme Court of Canada to deny leave was successful!  He is a frequent speaker on insurance defence at industry events and is the editor of the firm’s RISK (Rulings Insurers Should Know) Report. Mitch originally dreamed of being an actor but told his relieved parents that if it didn’t work out he’d be a lawyer instead.
